Cast a spell over the whole family with a magic meal at The Leaky Cauldron. The mock Medieval-castle Harry Potter-themed restaurant serves tasty British grub. Harry stayed in The Leaky Cauldron one summer before heading off to Hogwarts for his third year, according to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. UK expats will be familiar with the tasty and familiar bangers and mash, Toad in the Hole and Beef, Lamb and Guinness pie and ploughman’s, plus sticky toffee pudding and more for afters! Kids can indulge in tasty Butterbeer – a secret recipe mentioned in the Potter books said to resemble shortbread and butterscotch or Tongue Lying Lemon Squash without getting tipsy, while the grown-ups tackle the more potent Wizard’s Brew and Dragon Scale draft beer. The children’s menu features Fish and Chips, Macaroni Cheese, and Cottage Mini Pie. Typical entrée prices are around $15 and the children’s choices at $6.99 at time of writing. NORMAN’S at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, Orlando.

You and your partner are bound to fall in love with the acclaimed restaurant, NORMAN’s in Orlando. NORMAN’S showcases the menu of the famous chef, Norman Van Aken, known internationally as “the founding father of New World Cuisine.” He is also credited with introducing the concept of fusion food. His beautifully prepared cuisine is a celebration of Latin, Caribbean, Asian, African and American flavors. The romantic rotunda-shaped dining room is noted for its modern elegance and views of the gardens, lake and the manicured Greg Norman Signature Golf Course.   Service is classical, friendly, and informed. Dress code is business casual: Pants and closed toe shoes for gentleman and children (jackets not required.)  Shorts and sandals are not allowed.  Dress or long pants for ladies. Reyes Mezcaleria, 821 N Orange Ave, Orlando.

This recently-opened lively restaurant offers tasty regional Mexican dishes and tequila and mezcal – the agave spirit of Oaxaca in a lively setting. The menu offers a choice of familiar and exciting new Mexican dishes from a range of tasty tacos to mojo-roasted chicken or red chili enchiladas. Every day from 3pm-7pm is Happy Hour for keenly-priced drinks and appetisers. A brunch menu for Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-3pm, lunch on Mondays-Fridays from 11am-3pm and dinner menu is also available. Expect to pay up to $12 for a starter, $14 for a taco and $36 for a main course. Sides are extra. Sweets are $6 at time of writing.

For example, you can choose from Chicken T-Rexadillas, mammoth Megasaurus Burger and Prehistoric Pasta. The children’s meal features Lava Lasagne, Paleo Pizza and Sly’s Sliders, all finished off with a Sabre-tooth chocolate Sundae. You will enjoy the amazing animatronic dinosaurs, woolly mammoths and simulated meteor showers, as well as an Octopus Bar with moving tentacles and jellyfish and an interactive Paleo Zone.

Wonderful Venezuelan food made by an enthusiastic team all at competitive prices. Try one of the speciality sandwiches made with plantain slices. Alternatively, sample an arepa made from ground maize dough or cooked flour prominent in Colombia and Venezuela cuisine. It is served with cheese, cuajada (fermented milk) or avocado, or split to make sandwiches. Both are around $9 each. Children’s meals are available, too.
