After you book your Orlando holiday at your spacious villa or townhouse at the luxury lakeside Balmoral Resort Florida, and start planning your vacation, check out the many free online videos advising how to get the most out of your Disney World Florida trip. A good starting place is the DisneyWorld website. It will give you a good general guide to the park and its attractions.
- Character Meet & Greets
This is one of the most popular free activities at Disney World Florida. It is a good idea to find out where your favourite characters are scheduled to be on the days you are attending. Arrive in good time and be prepared to have to queue to meet the characters. Don’t forget to have an autograph book or notebook for the characters to sign and to pose for photos with them.
- Fantastic Free Fireworks
Round off your night with a bang by enjoying the amazing park finale fireworks. The current display at Disney World Florida is called Happy Ever After. If you are not in the park, the best free spot outside is at the Ticket & Transportation Center, near the entrance to the Magic Kingdom ferry.
- Celebration Badges
Celebrating a birthday, wedding, anniversary or another special occasion? Call into Disney’s City Hall and get yourself a badge to mark the occasion. Other members of your group should wear the I’m Celebrating badges to ramp up the fun and make sure everyone is aware of your special occasion.
Don’t miss the spectacular daily parades that feature fantastic floats, marvelous music and marching bands and Mickey, Minnie and friends. Plan to arrive early to get a good spot at the front of the crowd that always forms along the route. If you have time, don’t forget the evening Electrical Water Pageant light parade on Bay Lake outside the Magic Kingdom and at resorts around the theme park.
- Magic Pixie Dust
Call into the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom and ask for free confetti “pixie dust” to be sprinkled on your children’s hair.
- Disney Driving Licences
At Tomorrowland Speedway and the Dumbo ride ask cast members for a free unofficial Disney ‘driving licence’ certifying your children are qualified to drive or fly. You can ride without the licences, but they add to the fun.
- Marvelous Monorail Rides
Ride the monorail around the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts for free and enjoy the view. Of course, once in the park, there is a host of free rides including train, boat and bus.

While thinking about transport inside Disney World Florida, cast members on the various forms of Disney transportation may have transportation trading cards that they will give out on request for free.
- Disney Springs
When the weather is hot, look out for the interactive fountains around the park, where you can splash about in the water. The kids will also enjoy the free outdoor play area at the Lego Imagination Center. If you are lucky enough to be there on the first Tuesday of the month, starting at 5pm for the Monthly Mini Model Build, children aged 6-14 can build and take home a free mini model! Places are limited and booking is essential. In the evening, usually from 7-10pm, enjoy the free music in various venues, including the small courtyard just next to the Boathouse and the crossroads where the main walkway meets the walkway to the Orange parking garage.
